I've never had a problem visualizing Valgaav and Filia in American 1950s era clothing. Maybe it's due to the innocence of that time. In their own ways, they're both idealistical dreamers and they're both rebels. It's easy to see Filia's innocence under the 'good girl' appearance, but Valgaav's? It's still there, just hidden away under an attitude and a chip on his shoulder. After all, he still believed deep down inside things could all become okay again somehow, sort of a cosmic call for a "Do-Over!" Naive innocence mixed with passionate idealism and rebellion.
This picture was originally inspired by the Multiverse High RPG ([link]), where it's even easier for me to visualize them dressed like this. Because ~ Tara-hime was kind enough to indulge in my uber-squealy X/F 'shippy side while I was doing the realistic-style X/F artwork earlier this month, I wanted to reproduce the style here with them. |
